NG6 Solenoid Directional Valves: The HDC Alternative to Rexroth, Yuken, Parker & Eaton Vickers

If you spec, maintain, or repair hydraulic power packs, you already know the NG6 (CETOP 3, ISO 4401-03) solenoid directional valve by heart, it's one of the most widely used valve sizes in industrial and mobile hydraulics, and it's usually sold under one of a handful of legacy brand names at a legacy brand price.

At Hydrodynamics, we supply the HDC WE6 series, a size-for-size, port-for-port NG6 4/3 and 4/2 solenoid directional valve built to the same ISO 4401-03 mounting standard, at a fraction of the OEM sticker price. If you've been searching for any of the part families below, here's what you need to know before you buy.

Which legacy part number are you replacing?

The NG6 solenoid directional valve is catalogued under different naming conventions depending on the brand. If your drawing, spare parts list, or old valve nameplate references any of the following, our HDC WE6...6XJ is the equivalent valve size and function to look at:

Brand

Typical NG6 Reference

Mounting / Function

Rexroth

4WE6 series

ISO 4401-03 / CETOP 3, 4/2 & 4/3 solenoid directional

Yuken

DSG series

ISO 4401-03 / CETOP 3, 4/2 & 4/3 solenoid directional

Parker

D1VW / D3W / D81 series

ISO 4401-03 / CETOP 3, 4/2 & 4/3 solenoid directional

Eaton Vickers

DG4V-3 / DG4V-5 series

ISO 4401-03 / CETOP 3, 4/2 & 4/3 solenoid directional

HDC (Hydrodynamics)

WE6...6XJ

ISO 4401-03 / CETOP 3, 4/2 & 4/3 solenoid directional

These are all valves built to the same CETOP 3 / ISO 4401-03 mounting pattern and pressure/flow class, which is precisely why an NG6 valve cavity in the field can usually accept a replacement from any of these families without re-machining the manifold.

An important word on "equivalent"

We'd rather earn your business with accurate information than a quick sale. "Equivalent" here means same industry-standard mounting interface, port layout, and pressure/flow class, it does not mean identical internal design, spool geometry, or a drop-in guarantee across every configuration and voltage. Before you order a replacement for an existing installation, always confirm:

  • Porting pattern and spool type (open/closed centre, number of positions)

  • Coil voltage and connector type

  • Pressure and flow rating for your circuit

  • Cavity/mounting bolt pattern on your manifold

Our team is happy to check this against your existing valve or drawing before you commit, that's a five-minute phone call or email that can save you a return shipment.

Why buy the HDC NG6 valve instead of the legacy brand

  • Same mounting standard, held in stock locally — no waiting weeks on an OEM back-order for a standard CETOP 3 valve.

  • Meaningfully lower landed cost than Rexroth, Yuken, Parker, or Eaton Vickers equivalents, without dropping below industrial duty-cycle specification.

  • Direct technical support — we'll help you cross-check spool type, voltage, and cavity before you order, not after.

  • Built for the same applications: power packs, presses, mobile hydraulics, and general industrial circuits running standard NG6/CETOP 3 architecture.

Common applications for the NG6 / WE6 solenoid directional valve

  • Hydraulic power units and standalone power packs

  • Injection moulding and press circuits

  • Mobile and agricultural hydraulic systems

  • General industrial machine tool hydraulics

  • Retrofit and maintenance replacement on existing CETOP 3 manifolds
